KEARNEY -- Arlene L. Runyan, 79, died Tuesday (Nov. 18, 2003) at her home in Kearney.
She was born June 2, 1924, to Samuel E. and Beulah M. (Koon) Lawver in McCook. She graduated from high school in Oberlin in 1942.
On June 4, 1942, she married Dareld Eugene Runyan. The couple made their home in McCook, where her husband was employed with NKC Grain Company. The couple moved to Arapahoe in 1965. She made her home in Kearney in 1991 after the death of her husband in 1990. She was a homemaker and worked various jobs throughout her life.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dareld on Oct. 11, 1990; her step-father and one step-brother.
Survivors include one son, Phillip and wife, Linda Runyan of Ord; three daughters, Phyllis Bacon and husband, David of Kearney, Rita Fuchs and husband, Roy "Skip" of Oxford and Carol Voss and husband, Larry of Cambridge; and 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Services are Monday, 10:30 a.m., at First United Methodist Church in Kearney with the Rev. Dr. Marvin Koelling officiating. Graveside services will be Monday, 2:30 p.m., at Memorial Park Cemetery in McCook
Visitation is Sunday, 4-8:30 p.m., at Horner-Lieske-Horner Mortuary in Kearney and until service time at the church.
Memorials may be given in her name to the Nebraska Children's Home in Omaha or the Inter-Faith Caregivers.
