ASHLAND, Ky. -- Ruth Darlene Allen Bell, 74, died Wednesday (Nov. 19, 2003) at Kings Daughter Medical Center in Ashland, Ky.
She was born Feb. 25, 1929, to Willard and Ruth (Bates) Broyles in Oberlin. She was raised in Dresden, Kan., where she attended school. She moved to Ashland, Ky., and she was a restaurant owner.
She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Ashland.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Leola Black; one sister-in-law, Lola Broyles; and a grandson, Jeremy Cooksey.
Survivors include, three sons, Jim and wife, Sandra Allen of Littleton, Colo., Gene and wife, Joyce Allen of Atchison, Kan., and Ronald Allen of Ashland; one daughter, Debra and husband, Don Cooksey of Ashland; one brother, Gerald and wife, Mary Ann Broyles of Eureka, Kan.; one brother-in-law, Edwin and wife, Doris Black of Oberlin; one sister, Doris and husband, Virgil Clemons of Wallace; seven grandchildren;z and two great-grandchildren.
Services were today at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin with the Rev. Royce Leitner officiating. Interment was at Oberlin Cemetery.
Memorials may be given in her name to Ruth Bell Memorial Fund.
