BARTLEY -- Robert R. Kimball, 55, died Tuesday (Nov. 18, 2003) at Great Plains Medical Center in North Platte.
He was born July 2, 1948, at Valentine, to Everett and Mae (Spence) Kimball. The family moved to the Rushville area where he attended school.
He attended college for two years prior to joining the U.S. Army. He served three years of active duty and spent time in the Reserves.
On Oct. 4, 1978, he married Mary Puchner at Sterling, Colo.
He was owner/operator of a trucking company.
He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 161 at Rushville.
He was preceded in death by his father in 2001.
Survivors include his wife, Mary of Bartley; two daughters, Jamie and husband, Mike Tomlin of Cambridge and Sara Kimball of Indianola; four sons, Troy and wife, Brook Kimball of Cheyenne, Wyo., Jerry Turman of Hays Springs, Jason Onstott of Rapid City, S.D., and Justin and wife, Dawn Onstott of Rapid City; his mother, Mae Kimball of Bartley; three brothers, Melvin and wife, Rene of Bartley, Richard and wife, Gloria of Oxford and Edwin of Boise, Idaho; two sisters, Irene and husband, Mark Cohen of Twin Falls, Idaho and Carlene and husband, Tim Tann of Las Vegas, Nev.; and nine grandchildren.
Services will be Monday, 10 a.m., at the First Congregational Church of Cambridge with the Rev. Dana Keener officiation. Interment, with military honors, will be at Fort McPherson National Cemetery at 2 p.m.
Visitation is Friday, 7-9 p.m.; and all day Saturday and Sunday.
Memorials may be made to the Callahan Cancer Center in North Platte.
