TRENTON -- Louise E. Youngquist, 90, died Sunday (Nov. 9, 2003) at El Dorado Manor in Trenton.
She was born April 9, 1913, to Fred Pearl and Freida (Andorka) Shaffer in Atwood. She grew up in Southwest Nebraska and Northwest Kansas. She graduated from Trenton High School in 1930 and taught in rural schools.
She married Chester Youngquist and the couple resided south of Trenton before moving to California in 1940.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester; one son, Kaye Youngquist; one daughter, Valrey; one sister Leona McCarthy; and six brothers, Bud Shaffer, Brick Shaffer, Bill Shaffer, Jim Shaffer and two infant brothers.
Survivors include one son, Rod Youngquist of Moreno, Calif.; one daughter, Stacey Youngquist-Riemer of Capastrano Beach, Calif.; one brother, Dick Shafer; three sisters, Vercene Cantrall and JoAnn Lampman, both of Trenton and Mary Beth Williams; and seven grandchildren.
Services are Thursday, 10:30 a.m., at Herrmann Memorial Chapel in McCook with the Rev. Steve Kellett.
