Vera Marie Remington, 73, died Tuesday (Oct. 28, 2003) at her home in McCook.
She was born July 3, 1930, to Isaac Elmer and Leretta Stella (Bush) Lewis in Wauneta. She grew up in Wauneta where she graduated from Wauneta High School in 1947. She graduated from McCook Junior College.
On Jan. 21, 1953, she married Richard Judson Remington at the Wauneta Methodist Church. The couple farmed in Danbury before moving to McCook in 1961. For 20 years she was a secretary in the business office of DeGroff's Department Store.
She was a member of Eureka Chapter No. 86, Order of Easter Star of McCook.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Lorene Greeley.
Survivors include her husband, Richard "Dick" Remington of McCook; one daughter, Gloria Becker and husband, Jon of Cambridge; and one son, David Remington of Tecumseh; five brothers, Lloyd Lewis and wife, Doris of Lincoln, John Lewis and wife, Frances of Wauneta, Glen Lewis of Boonville, Mo., Jim Lewis and wife, Charleen of Avoka, Iowa and Kenneth Lewis and wife, Joanne of Cambridge; three sisters, Lois Kanost and Reva Wicke, both of Wauneta, and Nadene Brass of Haysville, Kan.; and three grandchildren.
Services will be Saturday, 11 a.m., at First Congregational Church in McCook with the Rev. Phil Ewert officiating. Interment is at Memorial Park Cemetery in McCook.
