ARAPAHOE -- LaVinnia McCoy, 95, formerly of Arapahoe, died Thursday (Oct. 23, 2003) at her home in Littleton, Colo.

She was born June 20, 1908, to George and Harriet J. (Stockton) Trollope in Holdrege.

She attended school and graduated from Orleans High School.

On June 22, 1933, she married Ralph S. McCoy in Alma. The couple made their home north of Arapahoe on the family farm. She worked at the C.A. Mues Good Samaritan Center for many years. The couple retired and moved to McCook in 1968 where she also helped out at Hillcrest Nursing Home. In 1995, the couple moved to Denver, Colo.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women of Arapahoe, the Arapahoe Women's Club and she was a 4-H leader.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ralph, in 1998; two brothers; and six sisters.

Survivors include three daughters, RoJean and husband, Paul High of Littleton, Colo., Sharon and husband, Gil Hassinger of Denver, Colo., and Jodene and husband, Harry Bostic of Bryan, Texas; two sisters, Sara Skiles and Hattie Schroeder, both of Scottsbluff; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services are Monday, 10:30 a.m., at First United Methodist Church of Arapahoe with the Rev. Hyeongdong Baek officiating. Interment is in the Arapahoe Cemetery.

Visitation is Sunday, 5-9 p.m., at Wenburg Funeral Home and prior to services at the church.

Wenburg Funeral Home of Arapahoe is in charge of the arrangements.
