WICHITA, Kan. -- Glendola A. Evans, 78, formerly of Hayes Center, died Sunday (Oct.19, 2003) at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospital in Wichita, Kan.
She was born Aug. 8, 1925, to Glen Harold and Wreatha Mae (Wilson) Scott in Hayes County.
On Sept. 14, 1942, she married Raymond Rodger Evans in Champion, Ill. She was employed as an administration assistant in programming planning and controlling (PPC) for Boeing. She retired from Boeing in 1983, after working more than forty years with them.
She was a member of Riverside Christian Church and helped with the nursery class and Vacation Bible School.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two children in infancy, Joy and Ray Evans; and two brothers, Homer and Norman Scott.
Survivors include her husband, Raymond Evans of Wichita; one son, Dallas Evans and wife, Reta of Lowell, Kan.; one daughter, Judy Hubbard of Wichita; one brother, Roland Scott and wife, LaVerna of Emporia, Kan.; three sisters, Viola Trout of McCook, Glora Clark of McCook and Vira and husband, James Colson of Kimball; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services are Thursday, 10 a.m., at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home in McCook with the Rev. Robert Bull officiating. Interment is in Hayes Center Cemetery.
Visitation is today until 8 p.m. The family will receive visitors from 7-8 p.m.
