OBERLIN -- Florence Geraldine Hudson, 81, died Saturday (Oct. 18, 2003) at Decatur County Hospital in Oberlin.
She was born May 10, 1922, to Walter Roy and Lola Fern (Baugher) Vaughn in Sheridan County, Kan. She was raised on a farm near Selden in Sheridan County. She attended consolidated No. 2 school district and Selden Rural High School.
She married Victor Dean Anderson in 1940. The coupled lived in Selden then moved to a farmstead 1/2 mile south of the Lund Church in Southwest Oberlin. Following her husband's death in 1955, she and her sons moved to Oberlin. She was a nurse's aide.
She was a member of the United Church of Oberlin.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Victor.
Survivors include two sons, Richard Anderson and wife, Cathy of Greeley, Colo., and Jerry Anderson of San Leandro of Calif; several sisters and three grandchildren.
Services are Wednesday, 2 p.m., at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin with the Rev. Mike McVay officiating. Interment will be in Selden Cemetery.
Visitation is Tuesday, 8 a.m.-8 p.m., and after 8 a.m., on Wednesday.
Memorials may be given in her name to Selden Cemetery Farm.
