WICHITA, Kan. -- Roger Pachner, 58, of Oberlin, died today (Oct. 16, 2003) at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
He was born July 11, 1945, to Louis and Donna (Boggs) Pachner in McCook. He was raised in Dresden and Oberlin. He attended Oberlin Elementary School and graduated from Decatur Community High School in 1963.
He served in the Navy during Vietnam.
On May 29, 1967, he married Jeanne Anderson in Oberlin. The couple made their home in Oberlin. He was an equipment operator for Decatur County Road and Bridge Department.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Danielle Pachner.
Survivors include his ex-wife, Jeanne Pachner of Oberlin; three sons, Jeffrey and wife, Rhonda Pachner of Monette, Mo., Jody and wife, Jennifer Pachner of Cimarron, Kan., and Justin Pachner of McCook.; one daughter, Jennifer and husband, Maurice Peterson of Newark, Calif.; two sisters, Roxie and husband, Dell Pomeroy of Oberlin and Rose Riffle and companion, Bob Dempewolf of Oberlin; and eight grandchildren.
Services are Saturday, 11 a.m., at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin. Interment is in Oberlin Cemetery.
Visitation is today until 8 p.m., and Saturday, 8 a.m., until service time at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society or Decatur County EMT.
