She was born Jan. 2, 1915, to Leo P. and Josephine (Schoenherr) Carlin in Spaulding, Greeley County. She grew up in Omaha and graduated from Omaha Central High School in 1933. She worked as a secretary for several years.
On April 3, 1937, she married Daniel E. Owens in Omaha. The couple moved to Benkelman, where he practiced law from 1938-1976. After retirement, the couple moved to Arizona.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Benkelman, St. Joseph's Altar Society and the Benkelman Women's Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Daniel; two brothers, George Carlin and Bernard Carlin; two sisters, Rita Lee and Eileen Rabb.
Survivors include her four children, Barbara Moore and husband, Ed of Ogallala, Judith Owens and James Owens, both of Benkelman and Carol Lungrin and husband, Dick of Kearney; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial is Monday, 10 a.m., at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Benkelman with the Rev. Bernard Lorenz officiating. Interment will follow services at the Benkelman Cemetery.
Visitation is Sunday, 2-5 p.m., at Forch Funeral Chapel of Benkelman.
The rosary will be recited Sunday, 7 p.m., at the church.
