Deloras Cross Nickerson-Bunstock

Deloras Bunstock died in her home in Cedar Bluffs, Kan., on Sept. 29, 2003. The celebration of her life visitation will take place on Oct. 11, 2003, 1-4 p.m. at her home in Cedar Bluffs.

Deloras was born on Feb. 9, 1929, to Fred and Pearl (Mosley) Cross at home in Moorefield. She grew up on a farm east of Moorefield and graduated from Farnam High School in 1947. Deloras and sister, Audrey, sang for many occasions around the area. She married Gene Nickerson of Farnam in 1951. To this union three daughters were born; Candice Jean, Yolanda Dee, and Jackelyn Kim. Gene was killed in a farm accident on Aug. 25, 1955. Deloras and her daughters moved to Gothenburg, where she worked for NPPD until 1975. Deloras was a very loving and devoted mother to her three daughters.

On Dec. 27, 1975, Deloras married Richard Bunstock at Cedar Bluffs. To this union Deloras brought her three daughters and Richard, his son James.

To Deloras, living in Cedar Bluffs was like heaven on earth. The serenity and wildlife of the area gave her such joy. She loved working in her flower and vegetable gardens.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Theron and Roland; and a niece, little Kay.

She is survived by her husband Richard; three daughters, Candice (Paul) Arent of Loveland, Colo., Yolanda (Ron) Weimer of Highlands Ranch, Colo., Jackelyn (Pete Palek) Nickerson of Cedar Bluffs, son, James (Kerin) Bunstock of Lincoln, five grandchildren and five great grandchildren, one sister, Audrey Kotchwar, and a brother, Gordon (Gladys) Cross; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be sent to the Callahan Cancer Center, 1311 South Oak, North Platte, NE 69101.
