LOVELAND, Colo. -- Irvin D. Hopkins, 77, died Thursday (Sept. 25, 2003) in Loveland, Colo.
He was born May 3, 1926, to Bert and Sarah (Blanke) Hopkins in Venango.
On Oct. 27, 1952, he married Irene McKain in McCook. He lived in Southwest Nebraska, farming and ranching, most of his life. He was the manager of the Palisade Grain Elevator for 10 years. He retired and moved to Loveland in 1988.
He was a veteran of the Navy Sea Bees.
He was a lifetime member of American Legion No. 318 of Loveland, BPOE Elks No. 1051 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars No. 7028 of Palisade. He was also a 50-year-member of the Masonic Blue Lodge No. 216, AF and AM in Palisade and the Tehama Shrine of Hastings.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Eileen Cornell; one brother, Ardon Hopkins and brother-in-law, William Beezley.
Survivors include his wife, Irene of Loveland; one son, Arnold Hopkins and wife, Pam of Brea, Calif.; one sister, Illa Beezley; and one grandson.
Services were today, 2 p.m., with inurnment at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Fort Collins, Colo.
