Clyde N. Slonecker ARAPAHOE -- Clyde N. Slonecker, 91, died Friday (Sept. 7, 2001) at the C.A. Mues Good Samaritan Nursing Center at Arapahoe. He was born Oct. 17, 1909, at Moorefield to John T. and Sophia (Nelson) Slonecker. He grew up on the family farm at Moorefield. he was an owner and operator of an over-the-road truck for a number of years.
On Feb. 7, 1941, he married Lena Bard at Norton, Kan. They made their home in Edison where he was involved in farming. In 1950, they moved to Arapahoe. He worked for the City of Arapahoe for many years. His wife preceded him in death on Feb. 28, 1976.
On Feb. 17, 1982, he married Hazel (Crasper) Ridpath. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Lena; one step-son, Floyd Stump; one step-daughter, Wilma Keller and husband, Claude; son-in-law Earl Ritz; six brothers, Gerald, Francis, Lloyd, Clyde, John and Wayne; and three sisters, Mabel and twins, Ila and Ula. Survivors include two step-sons, Allen Stump and wife, Violet of Fresno, Calif., and Charles L. Ridpath and wife, Donna of Big Springs, Texas; one step-daughter, Lucille Ritz of North Platte; and 10 grandchildren.
Services will be Tuesday, 1:30 p.m., at the Christian Church of Christ in Arapahoe with George Probasco officiating. Interment will be at the Edison Cemetery in Edison.
