William F. Oberhauser
William F. Oberhauser, 72, died Monday (Sept. 10, 2001) at the Great Plains Regional Medical Center in North Platte.
He was born on March 10, 1929, at Lindsay to Anthony and Elsie (Hemling) Oberhauser.
On May 22, 1951, he entered the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged on April 30, 1953.
On Sept. 15, 1974, he married Bernyce Louise Johnson at Huron, S.D. They moved to McCook in 1999. He was a member of the St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Omaha, the Omaha Veterans of Foreign Wars and Grand Island Eagles. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Gene and Andy Oberhauser.
Survivors include his wife, Bernyce of McCook; three step-daughters, Betty Rouse and husband, Phil of Trenton, Barbara Lundy of Omaha and Cathy Suit and husband, Jim of Bozeman, Mont.; two brothers, Jerry Oberhauser and wife, Lorene, of Lindsay, and Tony Oberhauser and wife, Joan of Bellevue; two sisters, Dorothy Schaefer and Betty and husband, Bud Steiner, all of Columbus; 10 step-grandchildren and 10 step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be Friday, 10:30 a.m. at Carpenter Breland Chapel with Rev. Gary Brethour officiating. Rosary services will be Thursday, 6:00 p.m., at Carpenter Breland Chapel. Interment will be at the Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation is today until 5:00 p.m., and Thursday 9:00 a.m. until the time of Rosary.
Memorials may be given American Heart Association.
