James 'Jim' L. Ellis
WINTER HAVEN, Fla. -- James "Jim" L. Ellis, 66, died of cancer Sept. 6, 2001, at his home in Winter Haven.
He was born Aug. 17, 1935, at Benkelman to John L. and Alice L (Sparks) Ellis.
He served during the Korean War in the Marine Corps.
In 1956, he married Mary Lou Richie at Wray, Colo. He had businesses in Colorado and Nebraska before they moved to Florida where he owned and operated many recreational vehicle parks.
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4289, the Kissimmee Moose Lodge, and the American Legion post No. 8 in Winter Haven.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Richard "Dick" Ellis.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Loue of Winter Haven; one son, James Ellis of Narcossee, Fla.; two brothers, Keith "Pike" and wife, Kit of Stratton, and Lyle "Newt" and companion, Delma of Parker, Colo.; two sisters, Dorothy Jean Arnold of Benkelman, and Shirley and husband, Charles Reiman of Wray, Colo.; and three grandchildren.
Services were Sept. 9, 2001, at the Winter Haven VFW.
