Roger L. Calvin

Roger L. Calvin, 72, died Friday (Oct. 19, 2001) at Community Hospital of McCook.

He was born Dec. 20, 1928, at McCook to Eugene and Lillian (Schow) Calvin. He grew up in McCook, and graduated from McCook Senior High School in 1947. He graduated from McCook Junior College in 1949.

On Feb. 15, 1951, he entered the U.S. Army, and served during the Korean Conflict.

On Nov. 13, 1955, he married Lois Mae Carlson at McCook. They spent their married lives in McCook. He was employed as an office manager for Hormel and Howard Kool Chevrolet for 37 years.

He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, and the American Legion Post in McCook.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Warren Calvin.

Survivors include his wife, Lois of McCook; two sons, David Calvin and wife, Sandra of Holdrege, and Jerry Calvin and wife, Robin of McCook; two daughters, Diane Calvin of Muncie, Ind., and Elaine Callister and husband, Bill of Battlement Mesa, Colo.; one brother, Keith Calvin and wife, Joan of Culbertson; one sister-in-law, Gladys Calvin of McCook; and six grandchildren.

Services will be Tuesday, 11 a.m., at the Herrmann Memorial Chapel in McCook with the Rev. Carl Pullmann officiating. Interment with military honors will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in McCook.

Memorials may be given in his name, and friends may call at Herrmann Funeral Home in McCook.
