CAMBRIDGE -- Mary Elizabeth Joseph, 85, died Saturday (Oct. 27, 2001) at the Cambridge Manor.
She was born May 29, 1916, at Wilcox to Edward Thomas Sr. and Grace Ella (Hutchison) Purinton. The family moved to Cambridge during the 1920s. She graduated from Cambridge High School in 1933.
On March 17, 1941, she married Harold L. Joseph. They lived and farmed north of Cambridge. They retired to Cambridge in 1977. He preceded her in death on Nov. 10, 1991.
She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Friendship Coffee Club, and the 20th Century Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold; one sister, Helen Ardis Purinton; and an infant daughter, Donna.
Survivors include three daughters, Mary Kay Sexton and husband, Dan, Gloria Hilton and husband, Gerald, all of Cambridge, and Nancy Cruise and husband, Russ of Loomis; one son, Paul and wife, Kathy of Alma; one brother, Edward T. Jr., and wife, Maxine of Cambridge; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be Wednesday, 10:30 a.m., at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Cambridge with the Rev. Art Phillips officiating. Interment will be at the Fairview Cemetery.
Memorials may be given in her name and left at Lockenour-Jones Mortuary in Cambridge.
