BERTHOUD, Colo. -- Rev. Harold E. Allen, 97, formerly of McCook, died Tuesday (Oct. 30, 2001) at the Peak Care Center in Longmont, Colo.
He was born Oct. 30, 1904, at Riverton to Benjamin and Elizabeth (Roseburrough) Allen. He grew up and attended school in and around Bird City, Kan., where the Allen family homesteaded.
On Nov. 23, 1941, he married LoRee J. Heisel at Morland, Kan. He was an ordained minister of the Assembly of God churches and ministered in churches in Nebraska., Kansas, and Colorado. He retired from the ministry after 50 years of preaching the gospel.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, LoRee on July 5, 2001; three brothers; and two sisters.
Survivors include one daughter, Marsha Taylor and husband, Andy of Longmont; one son Maurice and wife, Karen of Berthoud, Colo.; two sisters-in-law, Veda Heisel of Lenora, Kan., and Reva Harryman and husband, Raymond of Weisner, Idaho; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be Saturday, 10 a.m., at the First Assembly of God in McCook with the Rev. Charles Hooton officiating. Interment will be, 2 p.m., at the Bird City Cemetery in Bird City.
Visitation will be Friday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Carpenter Breland Funeral Home of McCook.
