Leonard Leland Calhoon
LENORA, Kan. -- Leonard Leland Calhoon, 91, of Lenora, died Wednesday (Oct. 31, 2001) at the Graham County Hospital in Hill City, Kan.
He was born Feb. 20, 1910, at Phillipsburg, Kan., to Lee and Edna (Ross) Calhoon. He was raised in Phillips County, Kan. He attended Harmony School in rural Phillips County.
On Oct. 7, 1935, he married Mary Donnelly at Jewelsburg, Colo. They made their home in Lenora where he was employed in construction.
He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church of New Almelo, Kan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Leland Robert in April 2000; and three brothers, Vernon, Willis and Leroy Calhoon.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Calhoon of Lenora; one brother, Raymond Calhoon and wife, Ruby of Glade, Kan.; and three grandchildren.
Services will be Monday, 10:30 a.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church in New Almelo. Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
A vigil service will be Sunday, 7 p.m., at the church.
Visitation will be Sunday, 5 to 8 p.m., at the parish hall in New Almelo, and Monday, 8 a.m. until the time of the service.
Memorials may be given in his name to the donor's choice.
