WAUNETA -- Carol F. Wolcott, 67, died Saturday (Nov. 10, 2001) at the Heritage of Wauneta after a lengthy battle with cancer.
She was born Aug. 27, 1934, at Palisade to Ted and Erma (Miley) Schreiber. She graduated from Wauneta High School in 1952, and from Rockmont Bible College in 1956.
On June 3, 1956, she married Jim Wolcott. They lived in Longmont, Colo., until 1959, when they moved to the Hamlet area to take over the family farm. They moved to Imperial in 1998.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her step-mother, Marguerite (Perkins) Schreiber; one brother, Lyle Edwin Schreiber; and one grandson, Jason M. Wolcott.
Survivors include her husband, Jim Wolcott of Imperial; two sons, Kim Wolcott and wife, Lisa of Palisade, and Brent Wolcott of Oxford; one daughter, Eli Podtburg and husband, Ken of Greeley, Colo.; one sister, Beth Freeburg and husband, Pat of Sterling, Colo.; and seven grandchildren.
Services will be Wednesday, 10:30 a.m., at the Hamlet Union Church. Interment will be at the Hamlet Cemetery.
Visitation is today until 8 p.m., and Tuesday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home of McCook.
Memorials may be given in her name.
