Ann Elizabeth Trimpey
BURLINGTON, Colo. -- Ann Elizabeth Trimpey, 87, formerly of Culbertson, died Friday (Dec. 7, 2001) at The Legacy Nursing Home in Burlington.
She was born Feb. 1, 1914, in Frontier County to Peter S. and Bessie Montgomery Smith. She grew up in Culbertson.
On Dec. 13, 1930, she married Wallace L. Trimpey at Culbertson. She was a housewife for many years, and worked in a defense plant during World War II while her husband was in the service. Later she worked as a bookkeeper at their business, the Culbertson Grain Co. They moved to Roswell, N.M., in 1974 after his retirement. He preceded her in death in 1979 and she moved to Burlington. She worked in a dress shop part-time for several years.
She was a member of the Methodist Churches in Culbertson and Burlington, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, and taught Sunday school for many years.
Survivors include her daughter, Anita of Burlington; two grandsons; and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be Monday, 2 p.m., at the Culbertson Cemetery with the Rev. Daniel Spearow officiating.
Visitation will be Monday, 9 a.m. to noon at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home of McCook.
