OBERLIN -- Louis Pachner, 82, died Wednesday (Dec. 5, 2001) at Decatur County Hospital in Oberlin.
He was born Dec. 31, 1918, at Oberlin to Frank and Barbora (Ruzicka) Pachner. He grew up at Center Township of Decatur County, Kan. He attended Center School.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
On May 15, 1941, he married Donna Dixie Boggs at Norton, Kan. They lived on a homestead on Dresden Road. He was a farmer. They moved to Oberlin in 1994.
He was a member of the Oberlin American Legion Post No. 70, and the Z.C.B.J. Lodge No. 244.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Donna on July 21, 2001; four brothers, John, James, Joseph and Rudolph Pachner; one sister, Katherine Pavlicek; and one great-granddaughter, Danielle Jo Pachner.
Survivors include one son, Roger Pachner of Oberlin; two daughters, Roxie Pomeroy and husband, Dell of Oberlin, and Rose Riffle and special friend Rob Dempewolf of Oberlin; one brother, Frankie Pachner and wife, Beulah of Sterling, Colo.; one sister, Ann Kaspar and husband, James of Loveland, Colo.; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services will be Saturday, 10 a.m., at Pauls Funeral Home of Oberlin with the Revs. Nolan and Barbara Pierce officiating. Interment will be at the Oberlin Cemetery.
Visitation is today until 8 p.m., and after 8 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
