John Jacob Brunk
OBERLIN -- John Jacob Brunk, 84, died Friday (Dec. 14, 2001) at the Cedar Living Center in Oberlin.
He was born April 27, 1917, in Decatur County, Kan., to John J. and Luella Jom Brunk. He was raised in the Norcatur, Kan., area. He attended country grade school near Norcatur, and Norcatur High School.
He was a farmer and rancher. He lived in rural Norcatur until moving to Oberlin on Dec. 8, 1989. He moved to Cedar Living Center in June of 1994.
He was a member of the McCook Eagles for more than 50 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Erwin and Howard Brunk; and one sister, Mildred Rodewald.
Survivors include one sister, Janette Tice and husband, Darell of Denver, Colo.
Services will be Monday, 2 p.m., at Pauls Funeral Home with Sister Marilyn Wall officiating. Interment will be at the Norcatur Cemetery in Norcatur.
Visitation will be Sunday, 1 to 8 p.m., and Monday 8 a.m. until the service time at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given in his name to the Norcatur Road Fund, Decatur County Museum, or to the Cedar Living Center.
