Beth B. Harris
DANBURY -- Beth B. Harris, 82, died Saturday (Dec. 29, 2001) at Sutherland Care Center.
She was born Dec. 15, 1919, at McCook to John Edward and Iva (Utter) Harris. She graduated from Danbury High School in 1937.
She worked at Schmidt's Grocery. She purchased the store in 1955, renamed it Beth's Store, and operated it until 1992. She lived in Danbury until moving to Sutherland Care Center in 1992.
She was a member of the Danbury Methodist-Presbyterian Church; the Danbury-Marion Federated Women's Club; the Birthday Club; and served as secretary for the Danbury Alumni Association. She was also a member of the Royal Neighbors of America for 58 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Clara Jane in infancy and Darlene on Dec. 7, 1993.
Survivors include two nieces, Sharla Hess of McCook, and Cheryl Bales of North Platte; one great-niece; one great-nephew; and one great-great nephew.
Services will be Wednesday, 2 p.m., at the Carpenter Breland Funeral Chapel in McCook with the Rev. James Denny officiating. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation is today, 5-8 p.m.; and Wednesday, 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer's Association or to the Danbury-Marion Cemetery.
