W. Lloyd Huff

ATWOOD -- W. Lloyd Huff, 91, died Tuesday (Jan. 1, 2002) at the Via Christi Regional Medical Center in Wichita, Kan.

He was born Dec. 21, 1910, at Denver, Colo., to Lloyd Alpha and Margaret Ellen (Hatch) Huff. He graduated from Colorado State College at Greeley, Colo. He was a teacher for several years before entering the service.

He served in the U. S. Army during World War II in the South Pacific.

After the service, he worked for the Colorado Rural Electric Association. For the majority of his life, he was engaged in the heating and air conditioning business. He also worked as a dairyman, bricklayer, worked for At-Kans Supply, and operated the Standard Service Station in Atwood for several years. He married Delores E. Wolfman. She preceded him in death on July 8, 1982.

He married Vera H. Dirks. She preceded him in death on July 30, 1991.

He was a member of the Atwood United Methodist Church, and a former member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows and the Atwood Lions Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents; both wives; two infant children, Karen Kay Huff in 1953, and Dale Martin Huff in 1959; and two sisters, Clio Huff Cast and Mary D. Huff. Survivors include two sons, Lloyd Alan Huff and wife, Susan of Aledo, Texas, and Norris Lee Huff of Savannah, Ga.; and three grandchildren.

Services will be Saturday, 2 p.m., at the United Methodist Church in Atwood with the Rev. Wayne Stephens officiating. Interment will be at the Atwood Fairview Cemetery.

Visitation is tonight until 9 p.m., and Saturday, 9 to 11 a.m., at Brantley Funeral Home of Atwood. There will also be visitation at the church from noon until the time of the service.

Memorials may be given in his name to the Obert Senior Citizens Center of Atwood, or to the United Methodist Church.
