Bessie Knight Wade
CAMBRIDGE -- Bessie Knight Wade, 83, died Saturday (Jan. 5, 2002) at the Sutherland Care Center in Sutherland.
She was born July 17, 1919, at Danbury, to Johnnie and Susie (Seaman) Thomas. She grew up in the Danbury and Lebanon communities and graduated from Lebanon High School in 1935.
On Oct. 17, 1938, she married Ernest Dale Knight at Waldon, Colo. They lived at Waldon until moving to Richmond, Calif., in 1940. In 1943, they returned to Lebanon and moved to Albany, Ore., in 1953. They returned to Nebraska in 1972. Ernest preceded her in death on July 13, 1986.
On Dec. 28, 1992, she married Delbert Wade. They made their home in Cambridge.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her first husband, Ernest.
Survivors include her husband, Delbert of Lynch; one son, Richard Knight and wife, Penny of Independence, Ore.; one daughter, Pamela and husband, Alan Messinger of Hayes Center; three sisters, Letha Turkovich, June and husband, Robert Grossman, all of McCook and Viola Canulli of Hawthorn, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Services will be Thursday, 10:30 a.m., at Herrmann Memorial Chapel with Pastor Clark Bates officiating. Interment will be at the Lebanon Cemetery in Lebanon.
