Roland P. 'Bus' Johnson
ARAPAHOE -- Roland P. "Bus" Johnson, 91, died Saturday (Jan. 5, 2002) at his home in Arapahoe.
He was born Jan. 22, 1910, at Arapahoe to John A. and Alice (Story) Johnson. He grew up on the family farm southwest of Arapahoe and attended country school in District No. 55. After school he moved to Longmont, Colo.
On Nov. 27, 1939, he married Ella Lampe at Kimball. They lived in Colorado for several years and then returned to the family farm. In 1976 they moved to Arapahoe and continued farming.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Floyd and Chauncey; four sisters, Elsie Redfern, Ruth Wilson, Helen Holthaus, and Irma Alsbury; and by one son-in-law, John Rudigar.
Survivors include his wife, Ella of Arapahoe; two daughters, Cleo A. and husband, Richard Overholser of Roswell, Ga., and Virginia L. and husband, Robert Hase of Centennial, Colo.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be Wednesday, 11 a.m., at First United Methodist Church in Arapahoe with the Rev. Hyeongdong Baek officiating. Burial will be at the Arapahoe Cemetery.
Visitation will be today until 8 p.m. and Tuesday, 9 a.m.- 8 p.m., at Williamson-Wenburg Funeral Home in Arapahoe; and Wednesday, prior to the services, at the church.
