James 'Maze' R. Mazanec
ATWOOD -- James "Maze" Raymond Mazanec, 67, died Monday (Jan. 28, 2002) at his sister's home in Atwood.
He was born May 26, 1934, on a farm north of Colby, Kan., to Adolph and Hattie (Kobza) Mazanec. He was a farmer, welder, truck driver, carpenter and mechanic.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Celestine Seivert and infant sister, Mary.
Survivors include two sisters, Helen Horinek of Atwood, and Rita Ann Mazanec of Concordia, Kan.; two brothers, Raymond and wife, Josephine of Hays, Kan., and Albin and wife, Loretta of Colby; seven nieces, eight nephews, seventeen great nieces, nineteen great nephews, two great-great nieces, and two great-great nephews.
Services are Friday, 10 a.m., at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Colby, with the Revs. Galen Long and Damian Richards officiating. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Colby.
The rosary will be recited Thursday, 7 p.m., at the funeral home.
Visitation will be today and Thursday, 9 a.m. - 9 p.m.
Memorials may be left in his name at the funeral home.
