Jessie Emma Crampton

PALISADE -- Jessie Emma Crampton, 100, died Friday (February 8, 2002) at Community Hospital in McCook.

She was born July 24, 1901, in a sod house south of Wauneta, to Melton and Emma Wisdom Crosson. She attended rural school in Dundy County.

On April 17, 1918, she married Guy F. Petsch. They farmed south of Wauneta until Guy 's death. She moved to the Palisade area in 1938. On June 13, 1940, she married Wesley Crampton.

She moved to El Dorado Manor in Trenton in December 1994. She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; one infant daughter, Madline Petsch; son, Wylie Petsch; three brothers, James, John and Fred Crosson; and three sisters, Reba McBride, Lucy Siebert and Laura Parks.

Survivors include two sons, Wayne C. Petsch and wife, Mildred and Harry M. Petsch and wife, Elsie of Palisade; one daughter-in-law, Ethel L. Petsch of Jonesboro, Ga; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great grandchildren.

Services will be Wednesday, 2 p.m,. at United Methodist Church in Palisade with the Rev. Michael Laing officiating. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery of Wauneta. Visitation will be Tuesday, 9 a.m. - 8 p.m. at the Carpenter Breland Chapel.

Memorials may be given in her name.
