CULBERTSON -- Jack L. Wagner, 70, died Tuesday (Feb. 12, 2002) at his home at Culbertson.
He was born March 8, 1931, to Jacob W. and Elizabeth (Schlager) Wagner at Culbertson. He graduated from Culbertson High School in 1948 and went on to attend the University of Nebraska School of Agriculture where he graduated in 1950. On Jan. 30, 1952, he entered the U. S. Army and served in the Signal Corp during the Korean Conflict.
On Aug. 15, 1954, he married Nina Wegener at McCook. He was a farmer and retired in 2000. He was caretaker of the Culbertson Cemetery from 1989 until his death.
He was a member of Saint John's Lutheran Church in Culbertson and the Culbertson Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Elizabeth; and one brother, Gary.
Survivors include his wife, Nina; three sons, Michael Wagner, Todd and wife Cindee Wagner, and Loren and wife, Angela Wagner all of Culbertson; one daughter, Kathleen and husband, Jeff Dillon of Kearney; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be Friday, 10:30 a.m., at Saint John's Lutheran Church in Culbertson with Rev. Brian Hopfensperger officiating. Interment with military honors will be in the Culbertson Cemetery at Culbertson.
Memorials may be given in his name and friends may call at Herrmann Funeral Chapel in Culbertson.
