ATWOOD -- Russell D. Cochran, 77, died Sunday (March 3, 2002) at the Good Samaritan Center in Atwood.
He was born Nov. 17, 1924, to William W. and Violet Rosamond (Felker) Cochran in Atwood. He served in the U. S. Marine Corps during World War II.
On Oct. 12, 1950, he married Elaine Virginia Mock at Denver, Colo. He lived in Virgina and Arizona before moving to Atwood in 1991.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Elaine in 1972; four brothers, John, Warren, Donald, and infant brother James; and three sisters, Mary Jean Pettera, Joan Hale and Carolyn Sue Cochran.
Survivors include one son, Bradley Duane and wife, Starr Cochran of Tucson, Ariz.; one daughter, Gaye Ellen Cochran and husband, Anthony of Phoenix, Ariz.; one brother, Lynn and wife, Rhea Cochran of Whittier, Calif.; two sisters, Ruth Gregory and Dolores Benda of Atwood; special friend, Nan Baumfalk; and three grandchildren.
Services will be Wednesday, 2 p.m., at Brantley Funeral Chapel in Atwood with Lloyd H. Hannon officiating. Inurnment will be in the Fairview Cemetery at Atwood with military honors provided by Sam Hubbard American Legion Post No. 46.
Memorials may be made to the Atwood Good Samaritan Center or the Obert Senior Center.
