ASHLAND -- Francis Poppinga, 84, died Monday (March 11, 2002) at his home in Ashland.

He was born Dec. 28, 1917 to Frank Heit and Renska Johanna (Raveling) Poppinga at Hildreth. He was a mortuary assistant.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy; and one daughter, Donna.

Survivors include three daughters, Betty and husband, Phil Rouse of Trenton, Cathy and husband, Jim Suit of Bozeman, Mont., and Barbara Lundy of Omaha; two stepsons, Dr. Bruce Hauser of Sunshine, Fla., and Mike and wife, Mary Hauser of Riverforest, Ill.; stepdaughter, Dr. Susan Hauser and husband, Richard Newell of Kensington, Md.; son-in-law, Don Schoenrock of Endicott; one sister, Bena Johnson of Axtell; brother-in-law, Herb and wife, Agnes Hauser of Union, Iowa; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
