LINCOLN -- Susan J. Brooks, 49, died Tuesday (April 9, 2002) at her home in Lincoln.
She was born Oct. 8, 1952, in McCook to Bruce and Martha (McKillip) Brooks, Sr. She attended Cambridge Public Schools and graduated in 1970. She worked as a business manager for a pharmaceutical company in Oregon and also as an office manager in health care. She also volunteered at a daycare with battered and abused children.
She was married to Bruce Hammon and to this union one daughter was born.
She was preceded in death by an infant sister in 1957. Survivors include her daughter, Lisa Wulf; mother, Martha Brooks; father Bruce Brooks, Sr.; one brother, Bruce "Butch" Jr. and wife, Dot Brooks all of Cambridge; two sisters, Mary Rock of Cambridge and Ann and husband, Stan Farr of Farnam; special friend, John Knapp of Lincoln; and five grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, 10:30 a.m., at St. John's Catholic Church in Cambridge with Father Mel Rempe officiating. Inurnment will be in the St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Cambridge.
Memorials may be given in her name to benefit the research and study of alcoholism.
