BEAVER CITY -- Verda E. Dillin, 94, died Thursday (April 25, 2002) at the Beaver City Manor.
She was born Sept. 5, 1907, to Lewis Jerome and Mary Ellen (Schooner) Lomax in Wilsonville. She grew up in the Wilsonville area and graduated from Wilsonville High School in 1924.
On Sept. 5, 1928, she married Ferril Dillin in Wilsonville. The couple farmed south of Wilsonville before farming north of Beaver City. She taught piano to many students and she owned and operated Verda's Treasure Home in Beaver City during the '70s and early '80s.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Beaver City, the United Presbyterian Women, Easter Star and Grange.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ferril; one son, Wayne; five brothers, Chester, George, Roy, Frank and Jack; and two sisters, Margaret and Bernice.
Survivors include daughter-in-law, Barbara Dillin of Hastings; two grandsons and five great-grandchildren.
Services are Monday, 1:30 p.m., at First Presbyterian Church in Beaver City with the Rev. Darin Bentzinger officiating. Interment will be at Wilsonville Cemetery in Wilsonville.
Visitation will be Saturday, 9 a.m. -8 p.m., Sunday, 1-8 p.m., at Wenburg Funeral Home in Beaver City and Monday, before the services at the church.
