WAUNETA -- Brenda Mae Theobald, 54, died Thursday (April 25, 2002) at the Aurora Medical Center in Aurora, Colo.
She was born Feb. 25, 1948, to George "Dale" and Phyllis Laverne (Kitt) Theobald. She began grade school in Lisco before the family moved to Powell, Wyo. where she graduated from Powell High School in 1966. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education from Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln. She taught in Globe, Ariz. for one year, then moved to Douglas, Wyo. where she taught for 26 years. She was teaching 6th through 8th grade at Douglas Middle School at the time of her death.
She was preceded in death by her father, George "Dale" Theobald in 1969; and sister, D'Ann Johnson in 1998.
Survivors include her mother, Phyllis Theobald of Imperial; and one brother, Kent Theobald and wife, Pat of Sacramento, Calif.
Funeral services were today, 2 p.m., at the First United Methodist Church of Wauneta with the Rev. Michael Laing officiating. Interment was at Riverside Cemetery at Wauneta.
A memorial service will be Wednesday, 4 p.m., at the Douglas High School Auditorium, in Douglas.
A student memorial scholarship will be established at a later date.
