HERNDON -- Eleanora Marie (Barenberg) Marintzer, 91, died Wednesday (May 8, 2002) at the Good Samaritan Center in Atwood.
She was born on Feb. 8, 1911, to Frank and Mary (Neuberger) Barenberg, four miles west of Herndon. She attended school at Brown Country School, St. Mary's Parochial School and Herndon High School.
On Sept. 22, 1931, she married Alfred Marintzer in Herndon.
She was a member of St. Mary's Assumption Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers Altar Society both of Herndon.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alfred; four brothers, Harry, Louis, Herman and Albert; one sister, Eva; and one son-in-law, Loren Hauptman.
Survivors include two daughters, Rose Marie Hauptman of Lincoln and Norma Jean and husband, Frank Huss of Herndon; one son, Francis and wife, Shirley Marintzer of Milligan; one sister, Leona Leitner of Omaha; and 40 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services will be Saturday, 10 a.m., at St. Mary's Assumption Catholic Church in Herndon with the Rev. Damian Richards officiating. Interment will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery in Herndon.
A parish vigil and Christian Mothers rosary will be said Friday, 7 p.m., at the church.
Visitations are Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., at the Williams Funeral Home Chapel in Atwood, at the church after 6 p.m., on Friday, and Saturday, until service time.
A memorial has been established in her memory.
