BEAVER CITY -- Melvin O. Lamb, 93, died Tuesday (May 14, 2002) at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
He was born March 6, 1909, to George W. and Ella Ada (Parker) Lamb at Stamford. He spent his early years in Petersburg, Ind. The family moved to Beaver City in 1927.
On June 12, 1937, he married Florence "Babe" Hutson at Millerton, N.Y. He was a mechanic most of his life, living in several states including Connecticut and Florida. They moved to Lancaster, Calif. where he was in trailer sales and service until his retirement in 1964. They moved to Arizona for a time before moving back to Beaver City in 1971.
He was a member of Grace Brethren Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Beuford, Albert and Clay; and three sisters, Vera Farris, Georgia Springer and Blanche Thomas.
Survivors include his wife, Florence of Beaver City.
Funeral services were today, 1:30 p.m., at First Christian Church in Beaver City with Pastor Wilmer Severns officiating. Burial was in Mount Hope Cemetery at Beaver City.
