Raymond John Real Sr.

Raymond John Real, Sr., 72, died Saturday (May 18, 2002) at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.

He was born Nov. 10, 1929, at McCook to John E. and Amy Zenobia

(Fisher) Real. He attended McCook Public Schools.

He served with the Nebraska National Guard.

On Jan. 1, 1953, he married Anita May Crooks. He was employed by Gerhold Concrete for 45 years.

He was a member of the McCook Volunteer Fire Department for 57 years and McCook Eagles Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Chuck, Bud and James Real.

Survivors include his wife, Anita of McCook; son, Raymond Real, Jr. of Brownsville, Texas; two daughters, Amy and husband, Larry Carfield and Rebecca and husband, Dennis Decker all of McCook; one sister, Mary Ellen Bell of Denver, Colo.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be Thursday, 11 a.m., at Memorial United Methodist Church in McCook with the Rev. Jerry Ruzicka officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery in McCook.

Visitation will be today until 5 p.m. and Wednesday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Memorials may be given in his name.
