Wanda V. Frickey

OBERLIN -- Wanda V. Frickey, 84, died Thursday (May 23, 2002) at her home in Oberlin.

She was born Oct. 29, 1917, to Wilbur and Jenne (Whartman) Chandler at Jennings. She graduated from Jennings High School.

On. Aug. 20, 1947, she married Wendell Frickey in Norton. The couple farmed in the Lyle Community near Wilsonville before moving to Oberlin in 1970. She was a homemaker.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Royal Neighbors of America and the Liberty Star Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Arnold Chandler.

Survivors include two sons, Wayne Frickey and wife, Donna of Rome, Texas and Willard Frickey and wife, Jackie of Hays, Kan.; one sister-in-law, Nadine Chandler of San Antonio, Texas; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Saturday, 11 a.m., at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin with the Rev. Doug Hasty officiating. Interment will be in the Oberlin Cemetery.

Visitation is today until 8 p.m. and Saturday after 8 a.m. Memorials may be given in her name to the United Methodist Church.
