Sylvia Grace Moore, 84, died Saturday (May 25, 2002) at Bryan LGH East in Lincoln.
She was born Oct. 8, 1917, at Otis, Colo., to John and Sophia K. (Plager) Casper. She graduated from McCook High School in 1937.
On Nov. 10, 1939, she married John H. Moore at Sidney. She was a beautician, a nurses aide at Community Hospital, was employed by Sehnert's Bakery, and spent countless hours doing genealogical research.
She was a 7- year member of United Methodist Church, member of the Genealogical Society, Veterans of Foreign Wars Legion Auxiliary and Daughters of Union Veterans.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Moore in 1999; sister, Vera; and three brothers, Harry, Lonnie and Dale.
Survivors include her daughter, Gwen Haller of Lincoln; sons, John Moore, Jr. and wife, Genene, of Columbus, Douglas Moore and wife, Dee Dee, of San Diego, Calif., and Kenneth Moore of Lincoln; 10 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Services will be Wednesday, 10:30 a.m., at Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Jeffrey Thurman officiating. Cremation will follow the service. A private family inurnment will be Thursday at Riverside Cemetery.
Visitation will be today until 8:00 p.m., at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home.
