BEAVER CITY -- Jacob James Gustafson, 10, died Tuesday (May 28, 2002) at a Lincoln hospital as the result of an automobile accident near Beaver City.

He was born June 21, 1991, to James and Connie (Hernandez) Gustafson at Grand Island. He was raised in the Martell, Neb. area. The family moved to Beaver City in 1997. He would have been in the fifth grade at Beaver City Schools this coming fall.

He was a member of Cub Scout Pack No. 237 and attended the First Presbyterian Church at Beaver City.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandfathers. Survivors include his parents, James and Connie Gustafson of Beaver City; twin brother, Seth; two sisters Jessica and Cassie all at home; grandparents, Eldon and Valeria Gustafson of Phillips, Neb., Shirley Rasmussen of Giltner and Fred and Cindy Hernandez of Oklahoma City, Okla.; and great-grandparents, Verna Hinrichs of Giltner and Anne Hernandez of Berkley, Calif.

Funeral services will be Friday, 2:30 p.m., at the First Presbyterian Church in Beaver City with the Rev. Darin Bentzinger officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery at Beaver City.

Visitation will be today until 8 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. until noon at the funeral home and prior to services at the church.
