Barbara L. (Wilson) Creighton

AURORA, Colo. -- Barbara L. (Wilson) Creighton, 64, died Tuesday (May 28, 2002) at the Medical Center of Aurora, Colo.

She was born Aug. 18, 1937, to Joseph and Alice (Learned) Wilson in Darby, Pa. She grew-up in Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Ohio, New Jersey, Missouri and Delaware. She graduated from Mount Pleasant High School in Bellefont, Del. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Kansas University in 1959 with a bachelors in history and romance languages.

In 1960, she married Bob Creighton. The couple made their home in Atwood. She was a homemaker.

She was a member and president of PEO, a member of the Union Club and Town and Country Guild. She served on the boards of the Atwood Public Library and Kansas Quilter's Organization.

Survivors include her husband, Bob; two sons, Alec and wife, Christie of Flagler, Colo., and John and wife, Joni of Longmont, Colo; one brother, Joseph and wife, Marty of Baltimore, Md; and five grandchildren.

Services will be Monday, 2 p.m., at the United Methodist Church in Atwood with Rev. Joseph P. Cunningham officiating. A private graveside service will be at the Atwood Fairview Cemetery in Atwood.

Visitation is Sunday, 9 a.m. - 9 p.m., at the Williams Funeral Home in Atwood.

Memorials may be left in her name at the Atwood City Library, the Atwood Second Century Fund or left at the funeral home.

Williams Funeral Home in Atwood is in charge of the arrangements.
