SELDEN, Kan. -- Blanche L. Cheney, 78, died Thursday (June 27, 2002) at Presbyterian St. Lukes Hospital in Denver.
She was born May 22, 1924, to Joseph and Avis (Phillips) Turrell in Rexford. She was raised on a farm north of Rexford and attended Hopewill Country School.
On Dec. 1, 1940, she married William Cheney in Colby, Kan. She was a homemaker who farmed in Decatur County.
She was a member of the Rexford Community Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Earl Cheney and John Cheney; one grandson, Tommy Korte and one grandson-in-law, Tim Carl.
Survivors include two daughters, Marilyn and husband, Alvin Korte of Garden City, Kan., and Lois Hake of Montrose, Colo.; one sister-in-law, Phyllis Cheney in Selden; two brothers, Clyde and wife, Frances Turrell of Rexford and Billy Jo and wife, Pat Turrell of Colby; one sister, Lola Skiles of Colby; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services are pending and interment will be in the Rexford Cemetery in Rexford.
Pauls Funeral Home in Selden is in charge of the arrangements.
