Richard "Jody" LeRoy Jordan passed away Friday (June 7, 2002) in Kimball. He was a resident of Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born April 22, 1930, in Kansas City, Mo. to Albert Henry and Elsie Gertrude (Childers) Jordan. He grew up in Wausa, Neb. and then joined the United States Navy to see the world. He was a Korean War Veteran.
He married Wanda Chantry Sept. 26, 1954, together they had three daughters and one son, Cindy Ann and husband, Bill Burgie, Suzan Kay and husband, Brent Bolingbroke, Perry Wade Jordan, Tammy Lee and husband, Robert Robinson; and 16 grandchildren.
After moving to Utah in 1979, he worked for EIMCO for 15 years. He joined the National Guard and put in 11 years. Richard held many positions in his church, branch president in McCook, high priest group leader, a temple worker, and filled a service mission, as well as many others. He loved playing Santa Claus and seeing the little children's eyes sparkle.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda; children and grandchildren; his mother, Elsie Gertrude of Danbury; sisters, Norma Jordan of Portland, Ore., Joyce and husband, Rex Remington of Danbury. He was preceded in death by his father, Albert Henry Jordan; a sister, Edna Graham; and one granddaughter, Melody Eve Dixon.
Services were June 12, 2002 at the Mary Lane Ward Chapel in West Valley City, Utah. Interment was in Camp Williams Veterans Cemetery in Salt Lake City, Utah.
