Caroline Wilhelmina Reiners, 91, died Friday (July 5, 2002) at Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook.
She was born Sept. 29, 1910, to Henry and Dorothea (Wall) Hofman at McCook. She attended rural schools in the Ash Creek area.
On June 18, 1931, she married Edward R. Reiners at St. John's Lutheran Church. She lived in the Ash Creek area all her life. She was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church and a charter member of the St. John's Guild-LWML.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Edward; six brothers; and five sisters.
Survivors include a son, James Reiners and wife, Wendy of Indianola; four daughters, Norma Jean and husband, Don Klein of McCook, Carolyn and husband, Byron Keith of Penokee, Kan., Sandra and husband, Mike Haskins of Kansas City, Mo. and Evelyn Reiners of Lincoln; two brothers, Walter Hofman and wife, Elsie and Victor Hofman all of Imperial; three sisters, Ida Gygax of North Platte, Dora Malone of Palisade and Erma Hoeme of Scott City, Kan.; two sister-in-laws, Letha Hofman of McCook and Helen Hofman of Salida, Colo.; 17 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, 11 a.m., at St. John's Lutheran Church with the Rev. Bryan Hofensperger and the Rev. Michael Reiners officiating. Burial will be in the Ash Creek Cemetery.
Visitation will be today until 8 p.m. at the Carpenter Breland Funeral Home in McCook.
