ARAPAHOE -- Mary Marguerite Palmer, 91, died Sunday (July 7, 2002) at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
She was born June 18, 1911, to Edward and Emma (Baker) Collins at Rapid City, S.D. She was raised in McCook and attended McCook Public Schools. After school she worked and lived in Denver, Colo. and then moved southwest of Arapahoe in 1944.
In 1947, she married Leslie Lyle Palmer at Atwood. In 1974, she moved to Arapahoe and worked at C.A. Mues Nursing Home until 1977.
She was a member of the Christian Church of Christ and the Mid-Valley Friendship Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers; three sisters; and a son-in-law, Jon Whitbeck.
Survivors include one son, Roger and wife, Connie Tigner of Willcox, Ariz.; three daughters, Edith Mae Whitbeck and Hillys J. Tigner of Arapahoe and Erma and husband, Owen Hanson of Loomis.
Memorial services will be Tuesday, 2:30 p.m., at the Christian Church of Christ in Arapahoe with the Rev. Milton Jones officiating. Inurnment will be in the Arapahoe Cemetery.
There will be no viewing or visitation.
