AMERICAN FORK, Utah -- John M. Wendel, 44, died Friday (July 12, 2002).
He was born Dec. 17, 1957, to Clarence J. and Florence Hurst Wendel. He graduated from Spanish Fork High School in Spanish Fork, Utah and served in the Portland Oregon Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He was married to Julie Palmer, formerly of Cambridge.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence; and his sister, Mildred Wendel Yorke.
Survivors include his wife, Julie, and his children, Jennifer Melodie and John Allen Wendel; his mother, Florence Hurst Wendel; sisters, Renee and husband, Karl Robinson, Bonnie and husband, David Daniels, Joy and husband, Tom Smuin; and his brother, Roy Wendel and wife, Cindy. Local survivors include his father and mother-in-law, Lewis and Jane Palmer of Cambridge.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, 11 a.m., in the Manila 7th Ward Chapel in American Fork. Interment will be in the Spanish Fork Cemetery.
Visitation is today from 7-9 p.m. at Wing Mortuary and Wednesday from 10-10:45 a.m. at the chapel prior to services.
