Mary Ann Elizabeth Harvey

NORTH PLATTE -- Mary Ann Elizabeth Harvey, 61, died Monday (July 22, 2002) at Linden Court in North Platte.

She was born July 19, 1941, to Henry and Nellie Vass Kalb in Chappell. She graduated from Chappell High School. She received an Associate Degree in Applied Science at McCook Community College.

On Oct. 17, 1961, she married James Harvey in Chappell. They owned and operated the Sports Shop and Liquor Store in Benkelman. She had lived in North Platte since 1995 and worked for Sitel for two years.

She was a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, James in 1994; her parents; and a sister, Genevieve Nelson.

Survivors include a son, Steven Harvey and wife, Teresa of North Platte; two daughters, Melissa Harvey of Phoenix, Ariz. and Martha and husband, Buddy DeWeese of Axtell; a brother, James Kalb and wife, Mary of Kearney; and three grandsons.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, 10 a.m., at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in North Platte. Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. (MT) at the Chappell Cemetery.

Rosary will be recited Thursday, 8 p.m., at Carpenter Memorial Chapel.

Visitation is today until 9 p.m. and Thursday from 1-9 p.m. at Carpenter Memorial Chapel.

Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society or Great Plains Regional Medical Center Hospice Program.
