Stanley J. Snyder, 83, died Wednesday (July 31, 2002) at Sunset Haven Nursing Home in Curtis.
He was born May 1, 1919, to LeRoy and Carrie (Schmitz) Snyder in Frontier County. He graduated from the Curtis School of Agriculture.
He served in the U. S. Army during World War II. Upon his return from the service, he attended the University of Nebraska.
On June 13, 1959, he married Doris Doolittle at the Garden Prairie Church in Frontier County. They spent their lives farming in the Quick Community. He retired in 1985.
He was a member of the Garden Prairie Methodist Church, a past member of the Farm Bureau Federation and a member of the Frontier County Historical Society.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Orvil "Bud" Snyder.
Survivors include his wife, Doris; one son, Gary Snyder and wife, Sheila; one sister-in-law, Delma Snyder; and one granddaughter all of McCook.
Funeral services will be Saturday, 10 a.m., at the Garden Prairie Methodist Church north of McCook with the Rev. Richard Sykes officiating. Interment will be at the Maywood Cemetery at Maywood.
Visitation is today until 9 p.m. at Herrmann Funeral Home in McCook.
