INDIANOLA -- Daniel P. Dolan, 76, died Friday (August 2, 2002) at the Cambridge Hospital.
He was born Dec. 30, 1925, to Bernard and Blanche (Nickerson) Dolan in Red Willow County. He attended school in Indianola.
He served in the U. S. Navy from April 6, 1943, to February 12, 1946. He worked for Dobson Bros. and Peter Kiewit for seven years on road construction equipment.
On Nov. 1, 1947, he married Opal Schneider and they farmed southwest of Stockville until 1995 when they retired and moved to Indianola.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Geraldine Dugger; three brothers, LeRoy, Harlan and Phillip Dolan.
Survivors include: his wife Opal of Indianola; a son, Paul Dolan and wife Debbie of Indianola; two sisters, Beth Weaver of Denver, Colo. and Darlene and husband, Harold Baker of Henderson, Nev.; a sister-in-law Bonnie Dolan of Oberlin; six grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services were Monday, 10 a.m., at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Indianola with Father Zygmund S. Rydz officiating. Burial was in St. Catherine's Cemetery.
The rosary was recited Sunday, 7 p.m., at the Carpenter Funeral Home in Indianola.
